Pre Employment background check are necessary to reduce the risk for criminal activities such as violence, abuse and theft after employment.
A Criminal Background Check will report any information pertaining to crimes for which your candidate has been arrested, charged, tried, or convicted. The primary purpose of these checks is to find out whether or not a candidate has been convicted of any misdemeanor or felony crimes. Criminal background Checks will also often include pending criminal charges. Our Criminal Background Checks researches all names, addresses, and dates of birth uncovered by a thorough SS# trace over a 10 year period of time. Plus, it also checks National Criminal Records database which includes information from the following sources: Multi-State Sex Offender Database, OFAC, the FBI Terrorist List, Federal PACER Search and State/Local Wanted Fugitive Lists.
Typically, Criminal Background Checks can take anywhere from immediate results to even 3-5 business days to be completed. Every candidate’s history is different, and some factors can prolong this timeframe, such as where a candidate has lived within the last 10 years. There are some counties within the United States that require a court runner to walk in and request criminal records manually from a court clerk which can further prolong a Criminal Background Check to be completed. The vast majority of our Criminal Background Checks will take less than 10 minutes to complete as our staff combs through each report that is ordered and has the right set of research skills, and knowledge of courts and their systems to gather any additional information that may be needed
A Criminal Background Check will search as far back as 7 years or as far back as deemed necessary for contractors or home services requirements. Please review both our PerfectRECORD and Unlimited Data reports to ensure the best background screening product for your hiring needs. The standard operating procedure for businesses is to run Criminal Background Checks on new candidates at the time of their hiring. From there, businesses diverge significantly in how they handle ongoing background checks. Some businesses run repeat checks on their employees every year. It is important to remember that a Criminal Background Check is simply a glimpse of a candidate’s background at the time of hire. Just because your candidates have passed the initial Criminal Background Check that you run today does not guarantee that they will pass one again in a month, a year, or five years. You should always keep in mind there is always a possibility that one of your candidates could be arrested, charged with a crime, or convicted.

The email will direct the donor to schedule a test for him/herself at a location more convenient for them from any one of our 2,300+ collection sites that make up the eScreen or LabCorp Occupational Health Network. Once the donor has completed the test, the results of the test will appear securely in your Protection Plus Solutions dashboard. Tests MUST be taken within the time frame selected. Expired Tests – PPS will only allow one additional process pass through for an Expired Test, otherwise a new passport will need to be requested resulting in a 'new charge" for testing processing.
A Passport is the unique, bar-coded confirmation receipt that a donor prints out and takes with them to the occupational health network facility to complete their drug test. The Passport will include the address and map/directions to the facility along with the scheduled appointment day/time. Candidates can upload the passport to their smart phone. Candidates MUST provide the clinic with their passport otherwise the test results will not push through our API correctly. eScreen and LabCorp Passports are sent via email. If the applicant did not receive one, contact our support team by opening a support ticket on our platform. Our staff will then be able to respond and send you the passport on our secure platform.
The time-frame varies greatly depending on the person the drug and frequency of use. In most cases, if the drug has been used within 48 hours of the test then the test will return positive. Some drugs are detectable longer; for example, it is sometimes possible a daily marijuana user could return a positive result even if they haven't used for up to three weeks.
Please contact our support team by opening a support ticket from our platform. Please note that PPS will only allow one additional process pass-through for an Expired Test, otherwise, a new passport will need to be requested resulting in a 'new charge" for testing processing.
Yes, as a company or private individual who requested the Drug Test for your candidate or employee, you will be notified via the PPS Website of the final test result(s). If your candidate tested positive you should provide them with a copy of their final test result(s). They can contact the clinic and/or MRO for additional information. Depending on the positive test, you can either have your candidate retest (additional charges will incur) or simply not hire them due to your company or contractual policies.
The MRO handles the legal process with drug screening. A laboratory will determine a result from the specimen, and the MRO will review it. If it were positive for a drug for example, the MRO certified doctor would perform all the necessary tasks such as contacting the donor and verifying prescriptions with other doctors. The MRO must legally finalize and report the result to us before we may report to our clients. The MRO must make 3 attempts to contact the donor before the final test results are revealed and sent to PPS.
