Drug Testing
PPS uses both eScreen and LabCorp Nationally recognized lab-based record sites. All drug tests are processed through our dedicated API for tamper-proof testing results!
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The MRO handles the legal process with drug screening. A laboratory will determine a result from the specimen, and the MRO will review it. If it were positive for a drug for example, the MRO certified doctor would perform all the necessary tasks such as contacting the donor and verifying prescriptions with other doctors. The MRO must legally finalize and report the result to us before we may report to our clients. The MRO must make 3 attempts to contact the donor before the final test results are revealed and sent to PPS.
Yes, as a company or private individual who requested the Drug Test for your candidate or employee, you will be notified via the PPS Website of the final test result(s). If your candidate tested positive you should provide them with a copy of their final test result(s). They can contact the clinic and/or MRO for additional information. Depending on the positive test, you can either have your candidate retest (additional charges will incur) or simply not hire them due to your company or contractual policies.
Please contact our support team by opening a support ticket from our platform. Please note that PPS will only allow one additional process pass-through for an Expired Test, otherwise, a new passport will need to be requested resulting in a 'new charge" for testing processing.
The time-frame varies greatly depending on the person the drug and frequency of use. In most cases, if the drug has been used within 48 hours of the test then the test will return positive. Some drugs are detectable longer; for example, it is sometimes possible a daily marijuana user could return a positive result even if they haven't used for up to three weeks.
eScreen and LabCorp Passports are sent via email. If the applicant did not receive one, contact our support team by opening a support ticket on our platform. Our staff will then be able to respond and send you the passport on our secure platform.
The results will only be shown in your Protection Plus Solutions dashboard. To view the status and/or results of your drug test, simply login to your Protection Plus Solutions account at www.Protection Plus Solutions.com; once logged-in, click on the Show Reports tab and find the donor's name; click on the report icon Drug Test and view the results.
For a drug test that concludes with a negative result, the report is available within your Protection Plus Solutions dashboard in about 20 minutes for eScreen and 5 hours after testing for LabCorp. For results that return "preliminary positive", the specimen is further evaluated by a Medical Review Officer (MRO). Once the MRO reviews the specimen, the results are returned typically within 3-4 business days. A Passport is the unique, bar-coded confirmation receipt that a donor prints out and takes with them to the occupational health network facility to complete their drug test. The Passport will include the address and map/directions to the facility along with the scheduled appointment day/time. Candidates can upload the passport to their smart phone. Candidates MUST provide the clinic with their passport otherwise the test results will not push through our API correctly. Should this happen please send an email to support@protectionplussolutions.com, or call our offices during normal business hours 8:30am – 4:00pm M-F, PST 1(877) 725-5412.
